NEW WINNERS FOR THE 2022 LADIES’ DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

In the Annual Ladies’ Doubles Tournament, held on Saturday 10 September, Clare Gatward and Julie Brims came through as the new winners.

Ten ladies played in two groups of 5, each partnering all the others in their group.  Individual scores were recorded and then a final set was played between the two highest scoring players from each group.  Unfortunately Clare Stratton, who topped her group, had to retire before the final due to injury.  Julie Brims took her place as the next highest scorer in their group and joined Clare Gatward in the final to play against Carol Newby and Karen Pegg.  After a very close set, Clare Gatward and Julie Brims won 6-3.
