Court Booking Guidelines

Per the LTA's Covid-19 guidelines, Byfleet LTC will continue to operate a strict booking only policy for the outside courts and practice wall for members wishing to play tennis.  Paid up members will be invited to register their membership with ClubSpark BLTC to enable them to book courts online.

To support NHS Test & Trace procedures, please ensure you retain a record for 21 days of all members who are part of your booking.

Please arrive at your court at the start time of your booking and vacate your court 5 mins before the end of your booking time.  Leave the Club grounds promptly and ensure you comply with the rule of six and social distancing guidelines at all times.

Please ensure you CANCEL your court booking if you will not use the court including for adverse weather.  A number of members have commented that courts booked are not being used.  Given the popularity particularly of the clay courts, it is only fair that you cancel bookings ahead of time to give other members the opportunity to use them.

Under the latest Government "Rule of Six" rules that came into effect on 14 September, for social play, which is how the Club views all member court bookings, groups of up to 6 people from different households can continue to mix together to play.  This allows for four people from different households to play doubles together at the Club as long "as social distancing guidelines are adhered to and venues follow Covid-19 Secure guidelines" in compliance with the Coronavirus protocols.  However it does not allow two courts of four to mix in any way, for example where two members book courts for doubles play for an unofficial team practice session.

Please familiarise yourself with the latest LTA venue and player guidelines and appreciate that the Club may not be able to implement some of the guidelines at the present time.  See https://www.lta.org.uk/about-us/tennis-news/news-and-opinion/general-news/2020/march/coronavirus-covid-19---latest-advice/

All outdoor courts are open for booking.

From 1 November 2020, a new court allocation approach for members and coaches will be implemented.  All approved group coaching sessions will be booked centrally by the Club on courts 1, 2, 3, 10, and 11 as will other Club activities such as mix-ins, matches, court maintenance periods and other Club events on all courts.

All available unbooked slots on all courts including the clay courts 1, 2 and 3 will then be available to members to book 7 days in advance.  Coaches will also be able to book 7 days in advance courts 1, 2, 3, 10 and 11 for their private lessons.  Note members must not book courts for their lessons.

A member can now book two (rather than one) courts per day up to 7 days in advance.  Each new seventh day can be booked from 07:00.  Each tennis court booking should be for a minimum of 60 mins and maximum of 120 mins in 15 mins increments.  For the practice wall book for 60 mins only please.  If you need to change your booking, you need to cancel the booking and rebook it with the correct details, there is no ability to edit a booking.

You can also download the Booker app onto your phone to book courts.  Ensure you use the latest version.

Known Issues – ClubSpark has confirmed there is a known bug whereby two members booking the same court at the same time can find they both receive a booking confirmation.  This has happened twice to date.  So when you receive a booking confirmation check your booking actually appears on the booking grid.
