What are the colours for?
Mini Red tennis is for players aged 8 and under. It is played on small courts with short rackets and soft balls. Just like the real game and gives players opportunities to have long rallies and play different types of shots.
Mini Orange is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Red, and is for players aged 8 & 9. It is played with shorter rackets, softer balls. Courts are bigger and wider than the red stage, but still smaller than a full size court which allows players to develop a rounded game whilst still learning a range of technique and tactics.
Mini Green is played on a full sized tennis court, with bigger rackets and balls which are a little softer than yellow balls. It's the next stage before moving on to full compression balls for 9 & 10 years. It allows each player to develop and improve all aspects of their game. Matches are played best of 3 sets, each set going to 4 games.
Yellow Ball Juniors/Adults
This is played on a full sized court with full rackets and proper yellow ball. All of the sessions are welcoming and focus on everyone having fun regardless of ability. My aim is to get more children playing tennis and create a team spirit within the club.
