THE PHILIPPA FRANCIS PLATE FINAL
The final of the Philippa Francis Plate trophy was played at Castle Hill Tennis Club on Friday 4th October. The Plate was open to all adult members to enter, and the final was contested between Dave Lewis and Shiram Bhosle. This was to be an excellent final  played on one of the club's grass courts.

After the first set went to Shiram 6-1 it certainly looked as if Shiram had the measure of Dave, but in the second set Dave fought back and, after some great tennis by both players, won it 6-3. The final result was determined by a 10 point tie break which Shriam won 10-4.

The "Plate" was something Philippa had tried to implement before she sadly passed away in 2016, so it is a trophy that is held in high esteem by the Club’s members.
