VETERANS TENNIS FINAL PLAYED AFTER LONG DELAY

Castle Hill Tennis Club was at last able to play its Veterans Final which was hung over from the summer due to rain. The match between Peter Riding and Dave Griffin versus Peter Smith and Colin Taylor was one long set final. All started well with both pairs having good rallies and some fine net and spin play but, as in the summer, it started to rain. Play carried on and just as the heavens really opened the match saw the final long rally shot with Peter and Dave coming out winners 6-2.
