Castletown Lawn Tennis Club

Castletown Lawn Tennis Club - now in its 150th year - has three Tiger Turf Advantage Pro synthetic grass courts  and a clubhouse situated in Malew Street, Castletown, next to the Bowling Green.  

Historical records indicate that the courts were first laid down in 1875. In the early days, it operated as a private club, ownership later passing to the town commissioners.

Castletown LTC has a lease with the Castletown Commissioners, under which it is responsible for maintenance of the courts and clubhouse.  

The club can even boast that a Wimbledon finalist once played on these courts. In 1971 Mark Farrell played with some club members whilst he was on a coaching visit to the island. Three years later, Mark reached the Wimbledon mixed doubles final with partner Lesley Charles.
