After great performances by both teams at the Island Games, it was time for Guernsey and Jersey to compete again at the Guernsey Tennis Club, this time in the annual Inter Insular.
First up it was the Ladies' Singles matches, which started the day with little to choose between the two sides and the scores level at 2-2. Next up it was time for the Men's Singles with Jersey stamping their authority on the tie, winning all four points to head into lunch leading 6-2.
It was still all to play for, as the four doubles matches took to the court, and at one early moment it looked as though Guernsey could pull soemthing out of the bag as they lead in all four matches. However, the moment was short lived as Jersey's men's pairs both knuckled down and pulled back in both their matches to win two points. The Guernsey Ladies' pairs both played well to win their matches (and the Ladies' section of the event 4-2, but with the Jersey men remaining undefeated all day, the overall trophy went to the reds, who won convincingly 8-4.
