Courts are Open
The courts at Chelmer Park are now open for booking following the rennovation work to clean and paint the courts along with the introduction of a new gate access and online booking system. Similar to the improvements and booking system at Oaklands park this project has been delivered in partnership with the LTA, and thanks to funding from the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation.
The booking sheet will be available in the coming days once the booking system is live and courts available to book.
Introduction
Chelmer Park, off Beehive Lane, specialises in providing quality community sports facilities. Besides football pitches, netball and tennis courts and an outdoor gym, it can also boast to being home of National League Chelmsford Hockey Club and the Chelmsford Cricket Club.
The tennis courts were improved in August 2024 and are lined for Tennis and Netball use.
All courts must be booked in advance.
In addition to the range of sporting opportunities available, the park is well used by young people, cyclists and dog walkers who enjoy using the play areas, outdoor gym, cycle routes and extensive open space for gentle exercise and fresh air.
