Risk Assessment 2021

Initial  Health and Safety Check at CCLTC - KT22 9BL -  20th May 2021
….. …….
1.    Fusion is now responsible for court maintenance on both courts. Also paths and approach to courts.  The courts seem in good condition now they are painted. Ct 3 tends to gather bits from trees, but we are soon to move from there to Court 1. Ct 4 had a certain amount of soil/tree bits in the corner near our storage bench after heavy rain and windy storm.
Action – take dustpan and broom/brush to clear worst asap.
A member reported scratching her hand on a protruding piece of metal on the gate. Unfortunately all the gates are the same, so it is a design flaw. The gate should be able to be opened/closed without touching this bit of bolt.
Action – Advise members.  See if DG can find a nut at home to cover this.
Action - Warn members to be careful not to bang their head if they have to duck under the goal posts when fetching a ball on shared Court 3.

2.    COVID-19  - From 17th May 2021  Up to 30 people may gather for a social or playing session. Spectators are allowed – this means we can have roll-ups with players sitting out waiting to play. Car sharing is allowed. Either singles or doubles may be played. Social distancing is still advised especially before and after play, with handshaking avoided. There is plenty of hand gel available – stored in the bench – and recommended to be used before getting the balls out for play and at the end.
Action – remind members they may prefer to bring their own gel.  The club website is updated regularly esp when regulations change. Important messages have been emailed to members as they occurred . Keep this up.

3.    First Aid box – Stored in chest. A useful amount of items.
Action – check products are still in date. Add a couple more incident forms. Inform members that help should be got from Centre if accident is serious or ambulance called for.

4.    Hayfever – Advise members that there may be lots of pollen/similar in the air – more so than at our last venue! Air quality was quite bad 19/5/21 due to fall out of seed heads! and before when the grass was cut.

5.    Welfare Officer remains Louise Cummins. She is going to update her training this Summer.
A copy of the safeguarding report is now added to New Members Application Form and signature required to agree with them.  Contact Information regarding Welfare Officer is added to Junior Application to introduce the new junior member to Louise.

6.    Fire Assembly Point for the main Centre is in the far car park. BUT I suggest we keep well away from the Centre if there is an incident and stay near Court 4 till safe to retrieve ones car. Obviously the Centre should be informed if there is an incident near the courts – e.g. the derelict pavilion goes up in smoke.
