Club rules
The following rules are designed to assist club members to gain maximum use and enjoyment from the club’s facilities. They are regularly reviewed and updated and copies are available on the clubhouse noticeboard, on the club’s website (dellcott.com) or from the club Secretary.
Court availability
- The Club’s policy is to make all courts available to members for play at pre-booked time-slots at all times, other than when there are events and activities taking place which have been approved by the Committee including match play, Club tournaments, some social events and coaching. Information about these events and activities will be made available on the Court timetable for the year sent to members with the annual newsletter in March and/or posted on the Clubhouse notice board prior to the date of the event. Information will also be available on the club’s website and social media platforms and the ClubSpark booker app.
Booking and using courts
- Members should book courts using the court booking system on the Club’s website at (dellcott.com) and or the mobile ClubSpark booker app (available for Android and iOS devices).
- Precedence is given to players with pre-booked courts.
- Members who book courts and are subsequently unable to play should release their booking as soon as possible to enable other members to take the slot.
- Members must only book courts for slots they intend to use.
Use of club facilities
- Members and visitors playing tennis or table tennis must not wear footwear that marks or damages the court surface or clubhouse floor.
- All members and visitors must agree to respect other members and visitors, the Club’s facilities and neighbours, and to conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to a family-based club.
- Members must not enter any of the surrounding gardens to recover tennis balls, unless express consent of the resident has been obtained.
- No dogs (except assistance dogs) are allowed on the club premises.
- No activities are allowed on the tennis courts except for the playing of tennis and any other activities authorised by the committee.
- Football is not permitted anywhere on the Club’s premises.
- Except on Club business of for special medical reasons, no vehicles or motorcycles are allowed within the Club’s grounds.
- Smoking is prohibited everywhere on the Club’s premises.
- Unless agreed by the Club committee, the Club’s premises are closed to all members and visitors after sunset.
- The last member to leave the Club at any time must close and lock the gates on exit.
- Parents are responsible for their children (i.e. under the age of 18) at all times while on the Club premises, regardless of their class of membership.
- The children of members are encouraged to play in the Club’s grounds but should not do so in a way that distracts members playing tennis or annoys the Club’s neighbours.
- Bicycles should be left at the racks provided or otherwise stored safely and securely but not on the courts or in the Clubhouse, nor where they are likely to cause inconvenience to members.
- Breakages, losses or damages to Club property should be reported as soon as possible to a committee member.
- Members or visitors causing damage to any of the Club’s property accept the costs of repair or replacement.
- Any member who observes a serious breach of the Club Rules should report the matter in confidence to a Committee member.
- All coaching must be on courses or sessions approved by the club Coach.
Visitors
- Any member wishing to bring a visitor to the Club may do so subject to the payment of the visitor’s fee current at the time of the visit. The current visitor’s fee will be posted on the club website. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure the appropriate visitor’s fee is paid to a Committee member.
- No one may play as a visitor more than three times during a club year (April to March). Thereafter they must apply for membership if they want to continue to play.
- Any visitor to the Club for any purpose must be accompanied by a member and must observe relevant Club rules.

Rules for use of the Table Tennis
- To access the table tennis table members will need to have obtained a fob during one of roll out meetings. Rules for access to the clubhouse are available on the website.
- The table tennis table is available to book on ClubSpark.
- While using the table tennis table other members are still entitled to use the other facilities in the club house (e.g. the toilets). Please be respectful to other members using the facilities and pause play while people are entering and exiting the clubhouse.
- The table tennis table must be folded way and returned to its designated position against the wall outside the men’s toilet (instructions how to fold away the table are below).
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- The table is not to be used for any other activity or with equipment other than that which it is designed for.
- No food or drink should be placed on the table.
- It is your responsibility to ensure appropriate use of the clubhouse and is left in a clean and tidy condition and the alarm is set.
- Please ensure that there is appropriate space around the table to ensure its safe usage e.g. ensure all chairs and tables are well away from the table in order that play can occur safely/minimise injury to players.
- Please report any damage that you find upon entry to the clubhouse to Facilities Manager.
