Jane Fisher Salver

Jane Fisher Salver 2019

Last Autumn the club suddenly lost one of its long serving and contributing members, Jane Fisher.  Her love of Tennis and the voluntary service she had given the club inspired her family to donate a collection from her funeral to the club.  We in turn have invested this into our junior programme and have purchased a Salver for the tournament as well as new court signs, naming two of our courts after recently deceased members Jane and Michael Oliver.

The tournament was organised by Jane's friends at the club and played in teams of four by those who played with her at the club, in her teams, friends from other clubs, as well as members of her family.  Before the tournament commenced Jane's family kindly unveiled our new court signs, officially opening the courts for play.

The tournament was a fun, team event and was played in the friendly spirit that was enjoyed by all.  The winning team was awared the Jane Fisher Salver and will share possession of the trophy before it is returned to be put on display in the club trophy cabinet.

After the event all stayed on to share a BBQ lunch and enjoy the good weather on offer.  Feedback was that the tournament was a great success and a fitting way to remember Jane.  The club would like to thank all those who took part and who helped organised and brought food.
