Clay Court Dragging
The synthetic clay courts we have installed are low maintenance compared to real clay, but they do require ALL players to take care to ensure the longevity of the surface. Please leave the court as you would wish to find it by following these guidelines:
1. Remove Rubbish
As with ALL courts, take your rubbish with you when you leave—especially sharp ring-pull caps from freshly opened tennis balls.
2. Drag the Court (Spiral Motion)
At the end of each booking, use the drag mats provided to sweep the court in a spiral motion working from the off-court area inwards. Make sure the brush element of the mat is facing downwards.
The idea is that foot movements during the game shift particles from the centre to the edges. Dragging brings that material back into the centre to distribute it evenly.
Use the drag mat with brush attachment for this job:

Note: The green mat is for removal of leaves or debris from the court. It does not perform the same function. Use it by all means if there is debris, but you will still need to sweep the court with the brush mat afterwards.

3. Line Brushing (Optional)
Use the line brushing wheel if any of the lines are not clear. This task has no bearing on playability or longevity, so this is one for the perfectionists—or it can be left to the incoming players to do to their satisfaction!
