Evesham Rowing Club: Ladies Night on Mondays @ 6.30pm

However cold or damp it is, you can usually find at least two courts of ladies enjoying a game. This term Monday nights haven’t been as straightforward with so much water around - brooms even replaced rackets once to help clear the floodwaters!

Seven of us have just started a four-week doubles tactics course with Andy. So, as our second season in the summer league approaches, we will hopefully be able to put some of what we learn into practice.

We’re a friendly group and welcome new ladies of all ages and abilities.

Thursday Social Tennis 10am 2 hours - All Abilities Welcome

WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THURSDAYS, THEN??

Not quite the weekend ahead, too long since the last one . . . but there is something special happening every week on a Thursday morning. Social Tennis!  We need more players, though – anyone, any age, any ability, retired, unemployed, working from home and able to take a couple of hours off. Please come and join us from 10am for max two hours. You don’t have to commit to every week, although it helps if you can make more than you miss! To join our WhatsApp group, please contact Helen on 07831 682092.

Tennis Event Dates for your Diary!

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May 2024. The Evesham Regatta needs your help

It requires a great deal of organising and many hours both before and on the weekend to run the event. The rowers and parents of junior rowers will all be 'on duty' to fill the many roles on the help rota, such as marshalling, catering, car parking, landing stage, registration and results, but MORE HELPERS ARE NEEDED!

In particular, we are looking for people to help manage the car parking.   If you could spare just an hour or 2 to help over the weekend, it would be very much appreciated.

The regatta is an important source of revenue for the whole club, not just the rowing section. It brings hundreds of people to Evesham and gains a lot of local public interest.

In short: Tennis players and parents of junior tennis players: An hour of your time will help this event go smoothly, and what better advertisment for the club is there than seeing all 3 sections working together!

Please get in touch with me if you can help. My contact details are below. Failing that, any donations of cakes for the refreshments would be gratefully received!  | Andy Crowther  | E-mail: andrew.m.crowther@gmail.com | Mob: 07788572974

Many thanks

Andy Crowther

11th April  / 7pm - 9pm - Adult Tennis Launch Event

Try for Free and Bring a Friend!

In celebration, we would like to ask all members to invite a friend along to try our different classes.

We are planning a fun evening of

  • Cardio Tennis,
  • Pickleball,
  • Walking Tennis
  • Adult Doubles Coaching

All of these activities will be available to try for free. Our coaches, leadership team and managers will be on hand to run the sessions and answer any questions you may have.

This event is open to all, and it would be great to get Rowing,  Squash and Tennis members involved. Dust off your old racket, or borrow one of ours. We'll then pop up to the bar for a drink and a chat afterwards.

Please sign up via the link below so that we have an idea of numbers.  We all look forward to seeing you on court and please don't forget to pass this invitation onto a friend, neighbour or family member.

Your Club Needs You !

Juliet and Alison have both attended executive meetings alongside Andy.

In order for us to develop as a club we require a few more people to get involved. If you have even the smallest amount of time to volunteer, we would love to hear from you.

Please reach out to Andy, Alison or Juliet.
