Thanks to Juliet, Alison and Andy for organising and making it great fun !  Well done Kate for the big win and great cakes from Sandra and Dave...

Junior Section News

My name is Bella and I’m 15. I think that I’ve been playing tennis at ERC for about ten years. I currently have two lessons a week, one on Saturday morning with Joel and one on Tuesday evening with Andy. They are different, one smaller, but I enjoy them both. Fortunately, my lessons haven’t been too affected by all the rain and flooding this year, but I did come down with my wellies and broom one Saturday to help sweep the silt off the courts. I was pleased that the rowing members joined us when they had finished cleaning the clubhouse – it felt like we were all part of the one club.

I also help Andy with the 5–7-year-olds on a Tuesday with two other young people. I enjoy that, too, and the children always cheer me up after a day of school!

Womens Team

This summer season saw the women’s team play their 1st competitive tennis in several years. We had a lot of close matches, ending with 3 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses. For our 1st season, and as most players hadn’t competed competitively before, this was an amazing result.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made it a fun, successful season. We look forward to next summer season!

Men’s Team

After last years success of winning Division 1 of the SWAS Mens Summer League, this summer season saw our team hold their own in the Premier Divsion finishing up mid-table, and retaining their place for next year’s summer season. Well played to everyone for a great season!

We’re currently 5 matches into the SWAS Mens Winter league, but due to player absence it’s been a difficult start. There are plenty more matches to play however, so keep an eye on the standings (at Mydivision.com), and I’m sure you’ll start to see us move up the table. Good luck to all the players, and if anyone is interested in joining the team, please get in touch with Andy.
