Thank you for renewing your membership at our wonderful old club.
Please be aware that included in your membership package is your understanding of all our policies and procedures. These can be found on our website under the title of "Documents"

Please use your name as the reference when making your payment.
Your captain Tim Colocott is arranging another chance to play club tennis along with the normal Tuesday clubnight. This extra opportunity to get together and play socially will be a simple 'round robin' format which will allow all standards to mix in together.
We will start off on Saturday 15th February at 3pm and run through until 5.30pm. If you can't make it at 3, don't worry, just come down when you can. The playing format will allow any number to join in at any time, after all its social tennis, so no time keeping, no trophies, just fun tennis with a little competitive edge. Gerry will be opening the bar from 5pm so we can work up a thirst beforehand. There will also be a free turkey curry dish served at 5.30pm to launch this opening session.
There is an old WhatsApp group in existence which will tag onto this. I've renamed it as Saturday Afternoon Social. A lot are already listed but if you're not please text me on 07767 797604, so I can add you on. I will send a message through this group WhatsApp shortly giving more info on the playing format. So, hopefully we will see as many as possible, weather permitting, on the 15th. Remember, all standards and ages welcome.
We are disappointed to inform you that only 60 members have opted in to the Wimbledon ballot. This means that our allocation will be down on last year. Our thanks to those members who have taken action but please, please can everyone make an effort to complete this 2 minute job before the 12th February? The easiest way to do this is ring the L.T.A. on 0208 487 7000 or go onto their website.
Applications for Wimbledon tickets are now available for downloading on the Website, for collection from inside the Clubhouse or on request from Debbie (debbie.johnston1@btinternet.com).
As previously advised, our courts have been rejuvenated. Everyone we have spoken to is very impressed by the playing surface so there can be no more excuses for bad shots. We are also improving the pathways, filling in the potholes in the car park and have replaced one of the chain link enclosure fences which had fallen into disrepair. There may be some disruption, but it will only be for a short while.
The Club is pleased to announce that Joel Donnelly has been promoted to Head Coach. As you will all know, Joel has been with FLTC for 4 years, and was Club Coach from June 2019. Joel has previously coached at Blundellsands LTC, David Lloyd and Waterloo LTC. He has won the first division in both the Southport and District (5 times) and Liverpool and District (3 times) leagues respectively.
He brings a wealth of experience to the coaching programme at FLTC. Whilst the coaching programme is currently in full swing, it will be expanded as the weather warms up. Joel currently runs junior sessions on Mondays and Thursdays, cardio tennis Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as well as the Winter League. He is also available for individual coaching.
Please see the club's website under the coaching tab for more information or contact Joel on 07768824393.
The club was vandalised over the festive period and as a result, our old summer house will be taken down. It is always upsetting to see any damage caused by mindless louts, so please make sure that the security gate is kept locked, especially if you are the last to leave the premises.
Please can all members turn off the floodlights after use. Because of the vagaries of the system, the lights magically turn themselves back on at 3pm if you don't manually turn them off. Just because they automatically go off at 10pm does not mean they are switched off! We should also add that you need to turn both switches on for the lights to come on!
The Chinese New Year Party and tennis tournament is being held at the club on Saturday 8th February starting at 2pm. We have a few tennis places left for the first Club social event of the new year 2020. The tennis will be followed by a Chinese party at 7pm in our cosy warm club house, chop sticks provided.
Please contact PHONE /TEXT Andrew Hewitt on 07534 921622 but do HURRY!
