Covid-19 Rules

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND PRINT FOR REFERENCE.

 

MASKS must be worn at all times in the clubhouse.

Use the SANITISER provided regularly to maintain good hygiene

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE – 2 metres minimum

The RULE of 6 applies outside.

 

MEMBERS MAY USE THE COURTS, UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

 

BEFORE LEAVING HOME:

Ensure that you are well. DO NOT come to the club if you feel at all unwell.

Ensure you have booked a court in advance on our website - ‘Book a Court’. You cannot just turn up (unless you have a lesson/session booked).

Sanitise your equipment, including racquets and water bottles.

Come in your tennis wear. The changing rooms may well be closed.

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before leaving home to go to the court (or use an alcohol gel if washing hands is not possible)

 

HYGIENE and EQUIPMENT

Bring some hand sanitizer (alcohol gel) with you in case none is available at the club, as well as some tissues to trap a sneeze or cough.

Do NOT share any equipment … (rackets, hats, grips, towels… etc)

Bring a water bottle, but do not share with others. No food unless it’s essential.

Take all your belongings away with you and do not leave anything on court

When you arrive home, sanitise your equipment racquets, water bottle etc.

 

TRAVEL AND MOVEMENT

Arrive as closely as possible to the time you are due to play. (Avoid using public transport)

Put on your mask and enter through the clubhouse, then register your attendance using the QR code on the NHS app, or sign in using the Track & Trace folder (use sanitiser immediately before and afterwards).

Avoid touching any court gates, fences, benches etc. If this is not possible, use hand sanitiser immediately after touching any of the above.

Follow promptly any instruction given by coaches or club officials.

Maintain at least 2 metres from others at all times.

After playing, sanitise / wash your hands asap

 

DURING PLAY COURT LIMITS

Under 14’s must be supervised by a responsible adult.

‘Spectators’ are not allowed, HOWEVER, where attendance of a parent/carer (non-participant) is required, they are not counted as part of the ‘6’, but should be limited to one per player, off court, with social distancing strictly observed at all times.

Doubles play is permitted with people from outside of your household, as long as you remain 2 metres apart. For doubles, agree in advance which player will take the shot if a ball travels to the centre of the court.

Group sizes for Coaching sessions will be limited as per the latest guidance.

Take care not to touch your face. Clean your hands before play and immediately after playing (use hand sanitiser / alcohol gel as required)

 

MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING – 2 metres is a MUST

Stay at least two metres away from other players at all times (including during play, when taking breaks and before and after play)

Do not make any physical contact with other players (touching rackets is allowed)

Change ends at opposite sides of the net to your opponent/s – clockwise.

Avoid chasing the ball onto another court if other players are using it.

Please be patient.

Avoid picking up tennis balls you aren’t playing with- use your racquet/foot to return them to another court.

Avoid using / touching equipment such benches, net handles or gates.

Avoid touching your face at all times.          

In summary – we all need to behave as if we, and all using the club are contagious. Remember, many people show no symptoms!
