Inaugural Floodlight League 2024/25

Wow! What a fantastic success this social competition has been for the Club, supporting 36 people to keep in touch with their tennis over the whole winter. 

They braved snow, rain, wind and on a couple of occasions; teeth chattering temperatures. These players are true die-hard tennis legends and deserve massive praise for their enthusiasm and commitment to this organsied winter play.

Not forgetting that this wouldn't be possible without the new installation of the floodlights on court 2; big thanks to Gez and the tennis committee.

The winners of the league were the formidable Yellow team; consisiting of a core team of Jo, Simon C, Laurie and Phil. Well done to you and it was great to celebrate with a social bringing members together at the local pub!

Top Attendance: Luke (only core player to play all 8 scheduled fixtures)

Rising Star, Saviour Sub and Team Player: Henry (subbed 11 times, the most and played for every team)

Super Sub: Penny (subbed 6 times, winning 72% of her sets)

Shining Star Sub: Lester (subbed 4 times, winning 100% of his sets)

Enthusiasm: Valencia (tremendous kindess and infectious, enthusiastic energy to everyone)

King Scorer: Simon C (top percentage winning 80% of his sets)

Queen Scorer: Heather (top percentage winning 83% of her sets)

Greatest Improver: Jess (superb improvement and consistent player playing 6 of her 8 fixtures)

Top Opener: Alisa (winning 14 sets, the most of any 'A' player)

Anchorman & Player of the Season: Phil (winning 16 sets, the most of any 'D' player and anybody in the league)
