Gretna Tennis Club

Gretna Tennis Club is a community club who offer youth and adult coaching programmes as well as various social fun sessions for adults and families. The club also provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play competetively in leagues and local competitions.

The Club is run by a Committee made up of representatives from the local community. The group have taken over the lease on the Courts and have raised money to totally revamp them.

The Club offer a range of membership packages. Courts can be booked by both members and non-members online. Members can bring guests to play with them for the reduced cost of £2.50.

Prior to refurbishment the courts were free to use. A membership programme and a need to charge for booking the courts has been set up to ensure the upkeep and mainteance of the facility both in the short and longer term. On top of this we also have regular 'court fees' to be paid annually to both the LTA and Tennis Dumfries. This not only allows us to monitor usage but also enables people to access the facilities without us having a physical presence at the courts.

All bookings must be done via Clubspark and booking information must contain all players details. Please follow the guidance for safe play, which is displayed at the court.

 Spring/Summer Programme 2026

From 16th April, the Thursday Junior sessions will  be outside at the tennis courts on Canberra Road, Gretna.

Friday pickleball will be taking place at the Richard Greenhow Centre, Central Avenue, Gretna

We will be following the LTA Youth programme 

Thursdays, starting 16th April 2026

LTA Youth Red ages 5 - 8 years 4 - 5 pm

LTA Youth Orange ages 8 - 9 years 4 - 5 pm

LTA Youth Green ages 9 - 10 5 - 6 pm

LTA Youth Yellow ages 10 + 5 - 6 pm

N.B. LTA recommendation

Any children under the age of 13, who are NOT at the coaching session must be supervised by their parent/carer when at a tennis venue.

Coached Pickleball  11.30 - 1.00pm

NEW  - SOCIAL PICKLEBALL   for those who have played before. A fun social session.

NB - there will be no coaching at these sessions 

Starting  Wednesday 15th April 2026    6 - 7pm at the Richrd Greenhow Centre, Central Avenue, Gretna

Also Friday  17th April     10 - 11am  at the Richard Greenhow Centre, Central Avenue, Gretna
