HTC Sally Davidson Award

Our Chairman Bev Wilson's report on the recent award to club member Peter Quilleash

The Sally Davidson Award was set up in memory of our first Chairman’s wife who sadly died from cancer. Peter Davidson was a founding member and the club would not have started when it did without his enthusiasm and organisational skills, ably supported by Sally.

The Sally Davidson Award is not awarded every year and is to recognise significant contributions made for the Club

At the AGM it was announced that Peter Quilleash would get the award but unfortunately he could not attend, so it was presented at a Christmas lunch that he had organised for the Men’s week day morning tennis groups that he runs so well.

Peter not only runs the Men’s week day groups, he also runs a summer social and this year set up a new trophy called the Steve Lyons Cup. Steve was a member of the Men’s mid week group who tragically passed away after a heart operation at the end of 2023. Steve was known by all as Mr. ‘Drop Shot’ and general ‘cheeky chap’ and well liked by everyone who knew him.

Peter well deserves this recognition and a picture was taken with the award and some of the Men’s mid week players.

Congratulations Peter.
