Summer Update

Dear Members,

Now that Summer is well and truly with us, I thought that it would be useful to give members a general update.

We are delighted to see that play is in full swing and although the Covid Pandemic is still with us & we need to be careful & follow the latest guidance, our tennis club seems to be thriving with regular members and a big influx of new members that we would like to wish a very warm welcome.

We are glad to see our Head Coach, Blaise back and are pleased to see that he is busier than ever, which must be a great relief.

All the coaching squads are well attended and in particular the Saturday ‘pay & play’ sessions and the Junior Summer Camp.

We hope that you will have noticed the assistants & helpers with their new yellow and green club T Shirts which makes them stand out and it does look very professional & ‘cool’.

The adult organised social sessions for ladies, men’s & mixed groups are very well attended & I am sure many of you will have seen all the courts in use in the mornings & Friday club night. Thanks so much to the members who organise these sessions.

The Mini Courts are being well used and new locks have been fitted to both the Main gate and Mini Court gate. The same court key opens both gates.

Members may also have noticed that there are two new benches by the Mini courts which were donated by the tennis club and are already being well used.

The Floodlights have been fitted with new on off switches & a courtesy light which is motion sensitive when dark. An automatic cut out has been fitted so that they will not operate after the 10:00 pm curfew.

The main future event is that we are getting the main courts resurfaced in November with work due to start on Monday the 15th November. The courts shall be out of commission for three weeks and the plan is to have them painted in the spring 2022 after the threat of frosts has passed.

The new website (www.haddenhamtennis.co.uk ) seems to be working well and the course payment and court booking facility is being well used and is a big improvement on the old site.

Lastly the tennis club organised CPR & Defribulator training in the playing field pavilion which was attended by tennis, cricket & football club members & if anyone is interested in attending a further session, please do let us know.

We do hope that you are all enjoying your tennis and please do get in touch with us if you have any questions or need information.

Wishing you all the very best for the rest of the season.
