General Booking Rules
- Tennis courts are for tennis use only, unless other activities are specifically approved by the council. Bikes, scooters, footwear with spikes or studs and dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are all strictly prohibited on tennis courts
- Appropriate attire should be worn on court and shirts must be worn at all times. Players are required to wear non-marking footwear when on court
- Personal items should not be left on the premises overnight. Please take off the court everything you take on – including all balls and general litter
- Please respect your own and others possessions. The Council accepts no responsibility for items lost, stolen or damaged on the premises
- People not playing tennis should respect players on court by not making excessive noise or causing distractions
- Smoking is not permitted on the courts
- No dogs are permitted on the courts
- Please respect and safeguard the tennis court and ancillary facilities which are made available for use by all members of the community.
- Please ensure you close the court gate properly when you enter and leave the court and help us to keep the courts in a safe condition by reporting any damage or suspicious behaviour to the Council
Court Booking Rules
- The council operates the online tennis court booking system for use by members of the public
- Court bookings are available on the hour.
- Pricing is set by the council to manage and maintain the tennis courts.
- Players are requested to arrive in time for the start of their sessions and to vacate the court immediately if another person has booked the following time slot
- Court bookings should be made online in advance.
- When asked, players should show their booking reference (provided to you online when submitting your booking, in a confirmation email)
- For safety reasons, no more than 4 players should play on any one court
- Court usage in poor weather conditions is at the individuals' personal risk (eg. ice, snow, wet leaves).
Cancellations:
Please see cancellation policy below.
- Please cancel any unwanted bookings online (even if at the last minute), to allow others to play.
- An automatic refund will be issued if a cancellation is made 24 hours in advance of your session.
- If you cancel a booking due to adverse weather within the 24 hours period of your booking, you can request a court booking credit. This credit will be issued against the value of the original booking. A request for a court booking credit should be made to sportsdevelopment@derbyshiredales.gov.uk and must be made no later than 12 hours after the time of the booking.
- Refunds with the 24 hours of your booking will only be issued by discretion of the council and requests must be made by email no later than 12 hours after the time of the bookings.
- The Council reserves the right to cancel bookings, where there is cause, at their discretion. An email will be sent to the member notifying them should this be necessary.
- The Council reserves the right to pre-book the Courts for coaching, events, and maintenance.
Right to Play
You must book a court online before playing. If someone is playing on the Court you have booked when you arrive, please use your booking confirmation as proof where possible or use another Court if necessary. If you encounter any problems please contact us on sportsdevelopment@derbyshiredales.gov.uk
