  • There are four competitions in the Lindfield Interclub Box League – mixed singles, mixed There are three rounds each year – January to April, May to July and August to November.  The length of each round reflects the availability of courts – matches, social play and the light are key factors.  At the end of each round there is promotion and relegation which next year will move to the top two and bottom two respectively in each division – it has been one to date.
  • The matches are one long set with the winner being the first to 11 games.  However, if the score is 10-all then a conventional set tie-break (ie first to seven points or two points ahead if it is six-all) is played.  The objective is to win as many games as possible as promotion and relegation is based on total games, not matches, won.  Losing all your matches 11-10 or 11-9 could still mean you can get promoted because you will end up with between 54 and 60 points.
  • The winners are not those at the top of the first division but the player/pair with the best average winning margin over the year with a minimum of two rounds played.  If your scores are 11-5, 7-11, 11-7, then your average winning margin is 2 (29 games won and 23 games lost giving a difference of 6 divided by the three games played).
