FAQs for Smart Access, PINs and Lighting
FAQs on Court Booking and Access
How do I access the courts?
When booking a court via the club website or phone app the booker will be given a PIN number. This PIN is then used at the main gate and will let the system know that you've turned up for your booking. This is important when dark as it will ensure that the floodlights will remain on for the duration of the booking.
Will I get a new PIN to remember with every booking?
For members your PIN will remain the same. If members of the public book a court they are issued with a singly use PIN that is only valid for the period of the booking.
What if I've forgotten my PIN?
The your PIN is given on screen when you book the court but if this is forgotten it is also given in the confirmation email. If you don't have a smartphone you may wish to take a printed copy of your confirmation email with you when coming to the club. However if you do have a SmartPhone you could use the club website, go to the Bookings section, click on "View my bookings" and then on any of the live bookings where you will find a section covering your PIN. Or you can install the Booker App from your app store, log in using the username and password you use for our website, and on the Upcoming page you will see not only the date time and court number but also your PIN.
How do I access the courts for the social sessions or match practice
Each session has a group organiser and WhatsApp group. The group organiser knows the session code, and in some cases the PIN is published in the WhatsApp group information. Please contact the group organiser or club secretary if you are yet to join the WhatsApp group.
How do I arrange floodlights if it's dark?
The system has been programmed to automatically turn on the floodlights 15 mins before a booking if the booking is likely to need lighting. We've used sunset timings to try and ensure that bookings only have lighting if needed. Floodlights are paid for during the booking process at a rate of £2 per 30 min slot.
What if the lights are already on when I arrive?
If you are the person that booked the court you will still need to enter your PIN when accessing the courts. This lets the system know that you are there and will make sure the lights stay on.
What if the lights don't turn on after I've entered the PIN?
If your booking starts during a period that doesn't need lighting the lights will only turn on as sunset approaches. But if this isn't the case check that you have the correct time and date for your booking and double check the PIN has been entered correctly.
