Ball Machine

                                 RULES FOR USE OF HBTC BALL MACHINE

Users of the ball machine assume all risk, responsibility and liability for injury or damage to person or property arising from its use. Prior to first using the ball machine users must sign a disclaimer and attend an induction session to be briefed on how to operate it safely Induction sessions can be arranged by contacting Anne Gibbs 07974 570435.

Please treat the ball machine with respect.

The Ball Machine may be used between 8:00a.m and 9pm.

The Ball Machine to be setup on Courts 1 or 6 if possible.

Machine to be set up on the centre of the baseline.

Do not use the ball machine during rain, drizzle, or any time the court is wet.

Balls frequently get stuck in the roller causing the machine to stop because the fuse has popped out. Turn the machine off, remove any balls stuck in the roller, replace the fuse and turn the machine back on. DO NOT LEAVE BALLS STUCK IN THE MACHINE.

Ball machine can be booked by Adult Members by contacting Anne – juniors must be supervised by an adult member at all times.

The Ball Machine is heavy. Please don’t pick it up.

The Remote Control must be reattached to the ball hopper after use.

Do not walk directly in front of the machine when it is in use as balls can be ejected at speeds of up to 85mph.

Ball machine for use by members only.

Only use the balls that can be found in the ball hopper next to the machine. New balls must not be used as the fluff generated will clog the motor.

All balls must be picked up and placed back in the hopper and put back in the Clubhouse with the machine within the time allotted for your reservation.

HOW TO USE THE TENNIS TUTOR PLUS BATTERY OPERATED TENNIS BALL MACHINE

  • It is very straightforward to use.
  • Lift the fold down metal towing handle to wheel the ball machine to the baseline and line up on the centre of the court.
  • Ensure the machine is filled with balls from the hopper – maximum 150.
  • Press the ‘Power on Switch’ to turn the machine on.
  • Adjust the machine for height, ball feed rate and ejection speed. The amount of spin on the ball can also be adjusted from flat to underspin or top spin. The oscillator, when switched on, moves the machine from side to side.
  • The 2-function wireless remote control switches the machine on/off and the oscillator on/off.
  • Start the machine and check that the ball is being delivered how you want then turn the machine off using the remote control.
  • Go to the other end of the court with your racket and the ball machine remote Press the “ball feed” button to start the machine.
  • When finished turn the ball machine off at the remote and at the power switch and put all settings back to 4/5.
  • Return the machine to the clubhouse with the ball hopper making sure the remote is reattached to the ball hopper.
