Hillhead Club Championships 2024

The Hillhead Tennis Club Championships is now underway! The Adult Club Championships Rules 2024 can be read below.

Draws for adult events can be found here. Play by dates have been shared via email. Provisional play by dates for main events / age restricted events can be found here.

Junior Dates:

  • 26th October - 8U (1-2.30pm)
  • 26th October - 9U (2.30-4pm), 11U (finish by 2.30pm)
  • 26th October - 10U (4-6pm), 13U 4-6pm

Adult Club Championships Rules 2024

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IF YOU WILL BE UNAVAILABLE FOR MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS DURING THE COMPETITION OR FOR FINALS DAY ITSELF!

1. Entry: All entries to be made online via LTA website. There is no limit on the number of events you may enter.

* Finals Days: Players MUST be available to play on Finals Day at the designated time. Finals Day will be Saturday 21st September (with Sunday 22nd as a reserve), On Finals Days, adult matches will be scheduled to commence between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

2. Gents Open Singles Qualification: A qualification event will run from 1st – 31st July, with the main draw of 16 running from 1st August. The Tournament Committee may provide up to four direct entries to the main draw (based on seeding).

3. Format: All main draws shall be played as a knockout draw. An optional Plate (consolation) Draw may be made available for Ladies and Gents Open Singles only. 

4. Match Scoring: The default scoring for ties is the best of three, full tie-break sets.

5. Mixed Open Doubles: Enter your own name only as this is a drawn (balloted) event. No first team players will be eligible to play together if drawn and will be returned for re-draw.

6. Other Doubles Events: Enter own name and name of partner (with consent).

7. 40/55 Events: Open to all aged 40 or 55 years or over on 31 December 2024.

8. Seeding: Seeding shall be based (for singles) on the player’s ITF World Tennis Number followed by LTA Ranking as at the draw date; or (for doubles) on the players’ combined ITF World Tennis Number. 

9. Juniors must have their entry approved by Ash Webster before entering adult events.

10. Both players / pairs are responsible for ensuring that the tie is played: If you fail to play a match by the specified play-by-date and no satisfactory alternative date has been presented to the Tournament Referee, the tie will either be awarded to one player / pair (depending on circumstances) or be decided by toss of a coin by the Tournament Referee.

11. All queries about the championships should be directed to Fraser Kane, the Tournament Referee. The Tournament Referee’s decision is final.

12. Consent to share personal data: by entering the event you are agreeing to the sharing of your name, email and contact number with other competitors in the event for the purposes of arranging matches (as set out in point 10).

13. Closing Date: Last date for online entries, unless otherwise displayed on the LTA website. Acceptance of all late entries are subject to the absolute discretion of the Tournament Referee.
