About Hythe LTC
Established in 1889, Hythe LTC is one of the oldest clubs in the world. Situated on the banks of the Royal Military Canal we are a welcoming family-friendly, community tennis club open to players of all ages (4 - 80+) and abilities.

What we offer
HLTC is a non-profit Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), run by our members for our members in the Cinque Port town of Hythe in Kent, providing excellent facilities:
8 floodlit all-weather courts (4 hard and 4 artificial grass courts), a practice fence and Slinger ball machine (ball machine hire, April - September only)
Fully equipped kitchen, ladies & gents changing rooms, a meeting room, Wi-Fi, terrace area, wheelchair access and free on-site parking
Current Members 2024/25: Adults 350+ Juniors 250+
Membership. We have various options to choose from and to help make tennis more accessible, the club funds all Junior (Mini) memberships (age: 4 - 10) and Junior (Bursaries) are available on application for youngsters (age: 11 - 17).
Coaching. For juniors (age: 4 - 17) we have group and individual coaching sessions as well as the chance to participate in fun competitions, local tournaments and school holiday clubs. For adults there's a choice of group and individual coaching sessions available for beginners through to advanced players, a weekly Ladies' Morning/Evening and regular Drills & Doubles coaching.
There's the opportunity to play for the Club's Teams and participate in our weekly Social Mix-Ins and Walking Tennis sessions, monthly Singles Box Leagues, quarterly Fun (Doubles) Tournaments for players of all levels, annual Ladies' & Men's Days and our Summer Tournament and Club Championship Finals Day.
We also work closely with local community groups and provide walking tennis sessions for Hythe Dementia Forum and bespoke group coaching lessons for Mencap.

Hythe Lawn Tennis Club has provided social and competitive tennis to the local area for over 125 years, significantly upgrading our facilities over the last few years with support from the LTA, Sport England and Kent County Council.
