My daughter and I have been playing tennis at Oxshott tennis and sports club for over a year.

We were initially greeted by head coach James Starr who I found to be very friendly and welcoming.

He introduced me to his team who I have found all to be very professional and have helped to improve both mine and my daughters tennis immensely.

My daughter plays in regular squads organised by James and his team and has private lessons with some of his fantastic coaches. My daughter is now playing for the ladies first and second teams.

I myself play two or three times a week in the super social tennis organised by James and his coaches.

I have found the whole club, including the office staff, bar stewards, members and coaches a super and friendly club.

Having been a tennis member at OVSC for 24 years, I have seen many changes to the club. One of the most positive of these changes has been in the tennis coaching team and what they offer. Since the current team has been developing under James Starr’s professional direction, I have felt that the tennis section benefits from a coaching structure that delivers excellent, wide-ranging coaching that can be accessed by all ages and abilities. This inclusive culture extends beyond just coaching as the team also arrange social/fun tennis events throughout the year, enabling all members to meet, play and socialise in a relaxed environment.

The coaching at OTC has allowed me to progress at a pace that is comfortable for me but more importantly, it has allowed me to build my confidence as a player and to develop my enjoyment of the sport. The team of coaches facilitate tennis socials that are the perfect balance of games and fun. Everyone is assured to fit in.

The tennis coaching at Oxshott Village Sports Club (OVSC) is of a very high standard. The coaches are professional, well qualified, enthusiastic and encouraging. They are excellent with the juniors and run well drilled, well organised and fun tennis camps in the holidays -our grandchildren love them.

The club is very sociable, inclusive and there are excellent group coaching sessions for all abilities. 

If you are looking for an all round tennis club, I highly recommend OVSC - you won’t be disappointed!
