Welcome to my new website for Karen Hodgson Tennis Coach.

I am a Level 2 Accredited Tennis Coach and a Cardio Tennis Instructor, and I am well known at the Marke Wood Tennis Hub and other tennis venues in Deal for my enthusiasm for making tennis fun and accessible.

Following the renovation of the 4 park courts at Marke Wood Recreation Ground in Deal during Spring 2023, I am responsible for delivering a wide range of tennis coaching sessions there on behalf of 'Tennis For All', the coaching provider for Marke Wood Tennis Hub.  Additionally, I run the Free Park Tennis programme at Marke Wood Park for which I am a volunteer Tennis Activator.   

I am now excited and delighted that I have been appointed as the coaching provider for the soon-to-be opened, refurbished Connaught Park tennis courts in Dover.  All my Connaught Park tennis sessions are bookable here, through my own coaching website. Additionally, I am very happy to be delivering a school tennis outreach programme in the local area, in association with the East Kent Community Tennis Programme.  The grant-funded programme will help four primary schools in the Deal and Dover area to become self-sufficient in delivering after-school tennis clubs for their pupils.  The idea for this tennis outreach programme came from my extensive tennis coaching experience within a primary school setting where I was integral to Deal Parochial’s LTA Award-winning, inclusive tennis programme; in 2022, the school became the first primary school to win the National LTA Tennis Award for 'School of the Year', having previously been National Runners-Up for 2018 and 2020.
