FAQs

When are the courts open?

The courts in King George’s Playing Field, Sittingbourne are open every day in line with the park opening hours.

Some courts may be booked for coaching activities or events.

Do I have to be a resident of Swale to play?

No, everyone is welcome.

I only want to play once or twice, what can I do?

We offer casual Pay as you Play tennis charged at £6 per court per hour.

Simply register, book and pay for your court.

Am I entitled to a concessionary rate if I am in receipt of benefits?

There are no concessionary rates.

How many sessions can I book a day?

The annual household season ticket covers up to five people and can be used for a maximum of three court sessions of tennis per seven days, one per day and a maximum of two hours of tennis per session.

The main contact is responsible for booking court space on behalf of their family/household and will be issued with one login to book for whole household.

Once I have booked my court, how do I get access?

Once you have booked your court, you will receive a booking confirmation email.

Your booking confirmation will include a severn-digit gate code (remember you must include the Asterix *) which you can then enter on the keypad at the gate. It is always useful to have your booking confirmation handy for inspection purposes.

I haven’t received confirmation of my booking or my gate access code. What should I do?

The gate access code is provided within your confirmation email. Please check the junk folder of the email account provided when you signed up.

Alternatively, please log into your Clubsparks account and check your bookings where you will see the details of your booking, alongside the gate access code.

If you still cannot find your confirmation email or gate access code, email tennis@swale.gov.uk in advance of your booking (email address monitored during office hours).

What do I do if my gate code doesn't work?

Double-check that you are trying to use the correct gate code for the court and booking. Remember to include the Asterix * before the severn-digit number. If the code you are entering is correct, please check your booking confirmation for further advice.

If you have followed all these steps and are still unable to open the gate, please email tennis@swale.gov.uk for further advice (email address monitored during office hours).

Can I make a booking for coaching purposes?

Only coaches appointed by Swale Borough Council are authorised to deliver coaching activities on the courts. If you are interested in receiving coaching services, see the ‘Tennis Coaching’ page.

The annual registration and the pay and play rates are not permitted for this purpose.

Can I hire equipment?

Unfortunately, we do not offer equipment hire for personal bookings.

How do I cancel a booking?

Visit our book a court page to cancel.

Cancellations must be made four hours before the time of the court booking, for a refund or transfer.

No cash refunds will be given. For Pay to Play a refund will be applied to the card which was used at the time of booking (it may take up to 10 working days for this refund to show on the payment method).

If I see damage to the courts, who should I tell?

Please email tennis@swale.gov.uk to report any damage to the courts or for any other queries
