There are numerous opportunities to play competitive tennis during the year.
Mix-ins are sadly not able to take place at the moment, in view of the continuing Government Guidelines on social distancing. Despite a measure of relaxation in the rules, the LTA is clear that no mix-ins or club play can take place.
These normally run from April to September; Monday morning 9am, Monday evening 6pm until dark, Wednesday 6.30pm to 10pm (with floodlights after dark, BBQ and drinks), Thursday morning 9am and Sunday morning, twice a month in the Summer from 10am. There is no need to book, just turn up and join in. The Monday and Thursday Mix-Ins are run by Club members and the Wednesday and Sunday Mix-Ins by a Club Coach.
The box league continues to operate.
About 50 Club members compete in a ladder type system. It runs over a period of a couple of months and involves up to six singles matches against similarly skilled opponents. The promotions and relegations at the end of each round ensure that players of the same ability are usually in the same box and this has led to an overall league containing players of all ages and abilities. This means that if you want to join there will be an appropriate box that is right for you! If you want to join or want more details, please contact the organiser, Jon Monkcom.
The Club usually runs an internal Summer competition that is open to all members. We still hope that a reduced competition will be able to take place later in the year.
The Club runs a number of teams in both the Summer and the Winter Hampshire Leagues., but no league matches are taking place at the moment.
David Woodford, our Club Coach, would be happy to speak to you about all of these opportunities.
