COVID 19 Update- March 2021

Following the further easing of restrictions in England from 29th March, the Government and LTA have confirmed what these measures mean in relation to tennis. Players from different households can now play doubles together as long as they stay two metres apart as far as possible, and small group coaching for up to 15 children, and maximum of 12 adults per court can resume. Further, it is possible to share tennis balls although this does require higher levels of hand sanitisation. The link to the LTA guidance is indicated below and we would ask that you read this through.

Access to the floodlights is permitted subject to wearing of face masks inside the Clubhouse, and the use of hand sanitiser before and after touching surfaces. Please note that works are continuing inside the Clubhouse and there are no toilet facilities at present. The nearest public toilets are at Morrisons.

Courts must be booked prior to playing and the same 4 players should stay on that court for the session ie no mixing across other courts. There is no Club Night or organised social play until further notice. Do not turn up unless you have booked a court. Please ensure you leave your court before the end of your allocated time so that it is empty for the next players. Also, avoid congregating on or around the court to allow access for others. We have also installed signs at the court, providing specific instruction on how to use the courts and stay safe.  Please read these and adhere to them.  At all times, players should adhere to the Government’s social distancing guidelines (staying at least 2m away from others), and practice public health advice for hygiene.

Coaching is available only through Club Coach Ross Neary Tel. 07772630494 and Rusty Rackets
coach Craig Keeling Tel. 07958938275 and must be booked in advance.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave your home to play tennis if Government advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in the most vulnerable category and have been advised to shield from the coronavirus If someone who has played at this venue develops symptoms of COVID-19, they should be directed to follow the Governments ‘test and trace’ guidelines, which can be read at NHS Test and Trace: what to do if you are contacted - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
