Official Opening of New Tennis Courts

The Club was very fortunate to be able to get Gordon Reid, the 2016 Paralympics' Gold and Silver medallist and World No 1 Singles wheelchair tennis player, to officially cut the ribbon and open our two new floodlit tennis courts.  After a short opening speech by the Club Chairman, Mike Salter, Gordon cut the ribbon and declared the new courts open.  Then followed photo shoots with members, Craig Williams, local MP, Lisvane Councillor, David Walker and representatives from Tennis Wales and Cardiff Athletic Club after which everyone adjourned to the Clubhouse for refreshements.  Gordon talked about how he started playing tennis and life beyond the time he contracted Tranvers Myeletis.  He answered a number of questions from those attending and passed round his gold and silver medals for the audience to examine and hold.
