Lisvane Tennis Club was delighted to host a Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Grade 3 tournament this week as the Welsh Masters Series 2 took place over 3 days on the Club's clay courts.

16 players from across South Wales entered the tournament which was double the size of the previous Welsh Masters Series 1 tournament held in June 2023.

Lisvane member Paul Thompson beat fellow Lisvane member Tony Symons-Hicks in the Group A Final  while in the Consolation Draw Chris Dagley overcame Colin Peckham - both being David Lloyd Cardiff members.

In Group B Jeff Evans from David Lloyd Cardiff overcame the challenge from Lisvane's Andrew Reid Jones after a tie break decider whilst in the Consolation Draw Lisvane's Tony Nash narrowly edged out Cardiff Lawn Tennis Club member David Ford after another tight tie break.

Next up is the Welsh Masters Series 3  26th to 28th September 2023.
