Coaching sessions & authorised coaches

The Council are keen to encourage people to be active. This includes residents who might be wanting to start playing and keep people playing. Some may wish to improve their skills and this page provides details of any coaching happening and coaches who have informed the council they are using the courts.

For safeguarding  reasons and to ensure safety, all coaches using the court MUST notify the council and no one should take part if coaching sessions unless they know the coach is qualified, insured and has necessary precautions in place for incidents and accidents.

Coaches play an important role in helping introduce people to tennis and to improve their game. Through the Council's work with the LTA we only recommend using LTA qualified coaches who are listed on the "find a tennis coach"

Coaches

The Council is keen to work with coaches to encourage year round use of the courts but ask them to be responsible over the number of bookings they reserve per week to ensure everyone can access the courts.

It is vital that any coaching is carried out by insured and qualified instructors who following conditions for use of the courts. We require coaches to follow safeguarding procedures and having a risk assessment to prevent and deal with any incidents that occur.  It is a requirement for all coaches wishing to use the courts to register and provide details evidencing that they are qualified and insured. This must be done annually and in advance of any coaching taking place to tenniscoaching@rother.gov.uk

No coaches have provided accredited details to coach at Little Common but 3 have for Egerton Park and are listed on coaching on those pages.
