I moved into full-time coaching in summer 2019.  Having played at school I had a long break then started again in my late thirties and slowly became obsessed.  Over the last 10 years I have progressed my own game through coaching and lots of quality practice.   I currently play for Coolhurst in Middlesex leagues and Herne Bay in Kent leagues - I especially love mixed doubles and am very interested in the relationship between sport and psychology.

Ongoing Development

Since qualifying I have continued to shadow and learn from other coaches including Fran North, Sara Hancock, Viv Gabb and Linda Jones.  These amazing coaches have not only played tennis at county and country level, and developed some amazing players and teams, but they have willingly shared with me their tips, knowledge and drills for which I continue to be immensely grateful.  My own coach, Craig Miller continues to teach, encourage and mentor me.

I have a B.Sc in Psychology, and am considering a Masters in Psychology and Sport.

My grandfather played at Wimbledon and captained the Davis Cup team as well as representing GB against the USA in 1936 and 1938.  This photo was taken in 1932 as he warmed up for a match against Wales.  He is wearing one of Fred Perry's first pair of shorts which were considered very daring at the time.

Before I became a tennis coach I worked full time in marketing Marianne Hewitt LinkedIn
