Membership FAQs

If you have a membership query that is not answered below then please contact our Membership Secretary using liss.tennis@gmail.com.

Q: Why should I join?
A: There are lots of good reasons to join. You can find a list of member benefits here.

Q: When does the membership year start?
A: The membership year runs from 1st April to the end of March and you can join at any time.

Q: When are the courts open?
A: The courts are available 365 days per year.

Q: How do I access the courts?
A: Access is via a combination padlock which is changed regularly. You will be emailed the code on joining and with any code updates as they occur.

Q: I'm not sure - I haven't played for a while?
A: Come and have a game - there are club sessions where you can join in and see if you like the club. If you haven't played for a while and you think a club session is too intimadiating then please email liss.tennis@gmail.com. We have some club ambassadors who would be happy to help ease you back in gently if that is what it takes.

Q: I want to be a member - how do I join?
A: New members can join online here. However, if you would prefer to join the traditional paper based way then you can find membership forms here. Simply download the appropriate form and return it with payment to the Membership Secretary.

Q: How do I renew?
A: At the end of the membership year, existing members will be sent an email from the ClubSpark database asking them to renew their membership for the following year. If you're already registered with ClubSpark, you just need to click the renewal link and follow the on-screen instructions. However, if you would prefer to renew the traditional paper based way then you can find a membership form here. Simply download the appropriate form and return it with payment to the Membership Secretary.

Q: What if I forget to renew?
A: At the end of the membership year, existing members will be sent an email from the ClubSpark database asking them to renew their membership for the following year. You may continue to use the facilities of the Club for a grace period. Thereafter membership will lapse. A lapsed member may rejoin the club on payment of the full annual subscription.

Q: I'm an existing member - can I take advantage of the discounted membership?
A: Sadly, no - the club needs members paying full membership fees to survive. For the club to thrive we need an influx of new members to join and then renew at the full price in subsequent years. The discounted packages are an incentive for people who are new to the club and have never previously been a member.

Q: Can I fill in a membership form?
A: Yes, you can still join by completing a paper-based  membership form. Simply download the appropriate form and return it with payment to the Membership Secretary.

Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: There are a number of different membership packages. The membership fees for new and existing members are listed against each membership package on the main membership page.

Q: How much does it cost if I join part-way through the year?
A: Membership fees are pro-rata after September for new members. If the membership packages don't reflect this it's because we need to update them manually on Clubspark and we don't always have the resources to do this. Please email the membership secretary at liss.tennis@gmail.com. for the latest joining information.

Q: How do I pay?
A: The preferred payment method is via  a secure online facility provided by 'Stripe'.  Stripe is the company that the LTA's ClubSpark website uses for all debit/credit payments.  Stripe is an American technology company operating in over 25 countries that allows both clubs and businesses to accept payments over the Internet.  Payment is with your debit or credit card and the Club incurs a modest charge.  Please do not use an AMEX card as this incurs a premium charge.
