U12 Girls County Cup
The girls travelled to Woodbridge, where they started with group matches vs Bedfordshire and Lincolnshire.
On Saturday, the team faced Bedfordshire. 4 out of the 6 matches went to a third set match tiebreak. All the girls battled hard, but frustratingly the tie ended up in a 4-2 defeat.
Onto Sunday, Lincolnshire were up first. It was a similar story, with lots of tight sets and matches, but ultimately the girls came up just short. The 5th/6th playoff vs Suffolk was up next.
Despite some very positive play the girls went 3-0 down in singles. Imogen managed to battle to a 10-8 third set win at no.1 singles to keep Norfolk in the tie. The team needed to win both doubles to send the match to a shootout. Things started well with Imogen and Letitia winning vs the first pair, but unfortunately another tiebreak loss at number 2 doubles confirmed the loss.
Despite the losses, a lot of competitive matches for the girls, and had a few tiebreaks gone the way of Norfolk things could have looked very different. Promising signs with half the team eligible for next year.
Team L-R: Charlotte, Christine, Imogen, Amelija and Letitia
