County Tennis

Norfolk Tennis is proud to field County teams across every age group, from Under 8s to Over 75s. These teams reflect our commitment to player development and county-wide representation.
County Coaches & Captains
Our County coaches, captains, and vice-captains play a vital role in:
- Identifying and developing talent
- Organising training sessions
- Leading teams in County Cup and league competitions
Their experience and leadership are essential to nurturing Norfolk’s best players.
Historic Achievements
Since 1930, Norfolk pairs have recorded 15–0 perfect records in LTA Summer County Cup rubbers on 14 occasions [PDF]. Notably:
Gordon Fitt (1936, 1939, 1954) and Amanda Brown (1981, 1986, 1991) achieved this remarkable feat three times each.
Most recently, Maddie Brooks and Amy Partridge won 29 consecutive doubles rubbers across the 2022 and 2023 competitions — an incredible modern-day achievement.
County Colours
Players have been awarded County Colours [since 1925] in recognition of significant contributions to junior or senior teams, both on and off the court.
