Inclusive Tennis Day at Norfolk Championships

There was a wide range of tennis activities at the 2024 Norfolk County Championships.

While juniors and adults competed at the East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club for silverware, the Festival of Tennis organised five different inclusive tennis sessions on 28 August.

Under the direction of Tennis Able’s Jeremy Storr, who organised and coached throughout the Inclusive Tennis Day, people from across Norfolk took part in activities on courts 6 & 7 at Lime Tree Road.

There was Loddon’s Walking Tennis group; Jim and Judy Biggie leading North Elmham’s learning disability session with members and staff of Nansa, and Norfolk Special Olympics and Visually Impaired groups.

Georgia Routledge, the Para-Standing World champion, joined two other Para-Standing players for an exhibition match.

Norfolk Tennis wishes to thank Jeremy and Kathy Lofthouse, Norfolk Tennis President and Inclusive Tennis Lead, for all their hard work in organising the Inclusive Tennis Day.
