10U County Cup Report 2025

Over the weekend the 10u girls team were at Easton College competing against Middlesex, Suffolk and Bedfordshire. The Norfolk team of Beatrice, Ioanna, Esmee, Abigail and Olivia.

The weekend started against the strongest team, Middlesex. The girls fought hard and played some good tennis, but lost all singles to go 4-0 down.

Next up was the singles against Suffolk. Olivia played at 4 with a great 3-set win, starting Norfolk off strong. After all the singles the girls were 3-1 down, but all matches were close and could have easily gone our way. Doubles finished the day and sadly lost all. Esmee and Ioanna had a close match against Suffolk but lost in the third set tiebreak 10-7.

Sunday was a shootout against Bedfordshire for 3rd place. Olivia and Esmee started Norfolk off to the best start winning their singles at 3&4 respectively. Beatrice and Ioanna up next and had some tough opponents, unfortunately losing both, we were 2-2 after the singles. Olivia and Abigail played some amazing doubles and won. However, after both doubles we were 3-3, meaning a sudden death shootout was to follow. Beatrice and Olivia were picked to play in the final. The girls played some unbelievable tennis and eventually winning the tiebreak shootout 11-9 securing 3rd place.

The support from our girls on the side was exceptional. The girls were fantastic to work with and all had such a positive attitude in every match. They were all responsive to my advice when I was on the court and implemented the suggested tactics well. Overall, a very positive weekend.
