Oswestry 3 met Market Drayton 3 at home for the final match of the season.
Aiming for another win to extend their tight lead at the top, Oswestry got off to a flying start. Adam and Andy played a confident first match winning both sets 6-3.
Nick and Alan played a blinding first set winning 6-0, and then true to form took the second set to a tiebreak where they fortunately won it.
After the switch around Adam and Andy began confidently again, winning the first set 6-3. The second set slipped away from them though and they lost it on a tiebreak. The final set tiebreak started terribly and by the time Adam and Andy got back into it there was too much to do. Slightly disappointing end to the season for that pair.
Nick and Alan got underway in their second match winning the first set 6-3 and losing the second 4-6. The tiebreak specialists stepped up again though and secured a 3-1 win for Oswestry.
10-2 from the final 3 matches of the season has left Oswestry 3 in a good position at the top of the table but as good as they wanted. 6 points ahead of the nearest 2 teams but they both have 2 matches in hand. Fortunately one of those matches is against each other. It will be a close finish.
