Ladies start summer doubles season with 3 wins

The club entered 3 ladies teams in the 2026 summer doubles leagues. All 3 teams won their first match

Ladies 1 played Woodfield and achieved a 3-1 win, with Maisie Anderson and Emilia Schrade winning both of their rubbers and Kat Oakley and Fiona Russel having 1 win and narrowly losing the other rubber.

Ladies 2 achieved a 4-0 win against Market Drayton, dropping just 1 set over the 4 rubbers. Well done to the team of Jo Dalietos, Ruth Sperring, Rhian Morris and Emilie Schrade.

It was a superb first outing for Oswestry’s newly formed Ladies 3rd team, who claimed a clean 4–0 victory over Baschurch 5 on home courts on 28 April. Strong serving, sharp net play and calm decision‑making under pressure set the tone early, and Oswestry maintained control throughout each pairing. Baschurch battled hard, but the home side’s consistency was too much for the away team.  The straight sets win showed great teamwork, composure and promise for the season ahead. Well done to the ladies, Dianne Dorrell, Sian Spencer, Zoe Harney and Karen Mcmahon.
