Mini doubles competition gets the 2024 season off to a great start

Despite a rather chilly afternoon we had a very good turnout for our mini doubles competition on Saturday and we soon warmed up once the action started on court. It was a very sociable event and the team pairings mixed a range of standard to ensure that we all had a decent game. The competition organisers did the maths keeping everything on track and committee members provided a delicious array of cake and confections, washed down with tea. It was with some degree of reluctance that we returned to the fray after the mid-afternoon refreshment break as there were still plenty of delicacies to tempt us. Christine Sturgess and Steve Pike were worthy winners of the competition and were congratulated by our chair, Val Curtis. All-in-all, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and start to the summer season.
