The box leagues have provided an additional lease of competitive life at the club and will hopefully keep growing from strength to strength as each round passes.
Whilst the summer period presented some challenges in getting all matches played on time, each match was played in good spirits and was thoroughly enjoyed by all those competing.
There were some very close matches, notably Alison and Brian Patey just edging out Sally and Ben Whitemore in a hard fought three setter for the plaudits in the mixed doubles competition.
Results
Mixed doubles
The winners of the mixed doubles competition went to Alison and Brian Patey. A huge congratulations to them.
Ladies doubles
The winners from the ladies doubles were Sally Whitemore and Kerry Morgan, a dynamic duo who have excelled in the recent league matches to boot.
Men's singles
The men's singles draw was snatched by James Page a relatively new comer to the sport. This is testament to his hard work and was a real treat to watch him progress so quickly. James was also a stalwart in the men's league team with some impressive remarks from opposition teams on his excellent playing ability.
For more information regarding league tennis please check the 'League' page. We are always looking for more players to get involved in league tennis.
If you are interested in the next round of the box leagues, these will start following the club championships and will be advertised on the club's website, Facebook, Twitter and via email in the coming month or so.
It will be fantastic to get even more players on court over the next few months.
