It was mulled wine and mince pies at Pensford Tennis Club on Friday 15th as members turned up for the Christmas social tournament. Despite the cold evening Santa hats, tinsel and even an elf costume were on display as 15 keen players arrived to play in the American style tournament organised by club coach Dan Church. Many came down to support and enjoy the festivities on offer.
There was some thrilling tennis Tennis played with numerous winners and unexpected shots on offer. The standard was fantastic and is going from strength to strength. Each round saw hotly contested points with matches often decided on a sudden death point. Sue and newcomer Steve were worthy winners just pipping Alison and Alan in the final tie breaker.
