Thank-you to all 36 players who turned out on Sunday 10th June for an excellent morning of competitive tennis followed by a delicious BBQ, the weather was perfect too. Special thanks go to Nigel for the superbly cooked food, Amanda Hampson for the crisp salads, Mike Hutchinson for running a fine bar with excellent wines supplied by James Town; Marijke Craig, Margaret Godson, Paula Tailby and Judith Deck for superb bake-off standard desserts, Keith Hampson and Amanda Foxton for organising the play and Amanda for presiding over scoring.

A collection was held on the day for the Pewsey defibrillator fund and a fabulous sum of £275 (£150 last year) was raised through the generous donations of the competitors and their supporters who attended; many thanks and a big well done all round.

As for tournament results, the records show the following ‘Top Guns’ racking up 60-70 points: Mark Cann (Men’s winner), Mike Cox, James Town, Nick Hewens, Matthew Popham, Paul Coxon.

Hot on their heels with 50-60 points were: Philomena Plunkett (Ladies winner), Sarah McCleod, Bridget Lanyan, Matthew Highley, Clare Mullock, Lucy Baier, Deborah Goodall, Margaret Godson, Amanda Hampson, David Whitehead, Paula Tailby, Judith Deck.

Knocking up perfectly respectable scores in the 40s were: Nicola Urqhart, Anne Swift, Greg Cook, Emma Cann, Nick Olsberg, Catherine Hewens, Marijke Craig, Leo Goodall, Richard Newport, Adrian Goodall, Gill Tatum, Jean Rickard, Peter Deck.

Underpinning proceedings with scores in the 30s were: Richard Lanyan, Chris Harris, Mike Hutchinson; someone had to make the ‘Top Guns’ look good!
