Tennis Courts Reopening!

Dear Players & Parents,

We hope that you and your families are all safe and well.
In response to the latest Government and LTA /Tennis Wales statements and guidelines we have considered how we can best move forward with tennis at Rhiwbina on our own terms that we feel are safe and practical for all.
We are therefore happy for tennis to continue at Rhiwbina with the conditions outlined below, please ensure you read these conditions carefully.

The easiest way to sign up for membership and to book a court is through our new website

https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/RhiwbinaLTC

• All Adult Tennis Members must book a court prior to playing via Clubspark (website or “Booker” app). Please read T&Cs for conditions.
• If Juniors would like to play, their parents must book a court. Please read T&Cs for conditions.
• Mini members can only play with their Parent Members who will have to book a court. Please read T&Cs for conditions.
• Only active (paid up) members can book courts. An early bird discount is available until the 30.06.20.
• Guests can be invited to play as before for up to 3 times per year. There now is a function on the booking sheet to pay the club directly for the guest (via the web for now only, not the booker app)
• Singles can be played from 2 households.
• Doubles may only be played by members of the two households on opposite sides.
• Either no change of end or where required, change opposite ends of the net.
• Coaching is one to one only (2:1 if from the same household). Coaching for signed up members only, please book a lesson with Tom on 07814 019435
• The Clubhouse and all other sports sections and areas at the Club will remain closed at all times including the toilet facilities and access to water.
• Please walk or cycle to the club if possible; if you need to take your car please be considerate of the neighbours. Everything is quieter and slower these days and there might be children playing on the roads.
• Parents or guardians must adhere to the LTA 'drop and collect' policy at the gate and will not be permitted to wait in the gated premises for their child.
• The social distancing rule of 2 metres apart must be adhered to whilst waiting to enter through the main gate, when entering and leaving through the gate and at all times whilst on the premises. Please allow players to exit through the gate before you enter.
• Once you have entered the main gate, please go straight to your booked tennis court without delay or detours.
• There will be no changing facilities available on site before or after a match (the clubhouse will remain shut). You must arrive already changed and ready to play. Changing at courtside or anywhere else on the premises will not be permitted.
• You must bring your own hand sanitizer and a full water bottle for personal use only.
• You must ensure that you take all your belongings with you at the end of the session and do not leave anything on court. We had to remove the bins for the time being.
• You must leave the premises immediately after your allocated slot has ended and any post-match stretches and cool-downs must be done on court within your booked time slot or off site. Disposable gloves are available for use when dragging the mats on the clay courts.
• There is to be no social meetings/waiting/spectating/loitering of any kind with coaches or other
players whilst you are on the premises.
• Only one court can be booked per day per member. All play is an hour and 15 mins long; if no
play is scheduled after you may continue past that time. You can book a court up to 5 days in
advance. Please cancel unwanted bookings.
• Internal gates should not be closed with their bar; only push them towards their closed
position.
• No use of floodlights.
• Nets must not be altered in height; net heights will be checked regularly by someone from the
committee.
• A new First Aid Kit has been fitted on the outside of the clubhouse. Please email any incident to
our website whilst access to the log book cannot be given.
• Can we please appeal to your fair play and not book two consecutive sessions between two
partners.
• New tubes of balls can be purchased for £5 each through Paul W by texting him on 07957
880106.
• Parent Membership has been extended to include parents of all children (juniors as well as
minis) for hitting with their own child.
• We also have a summer offer on for NEW members if you’d like to tell your friends and
neighbours about it.
• Remember that we have all been off for quite a while so take care when starting tennis again.
And just to remind you that one of the terms of your membership is that you play at your own
risk.

If you have any symptoms such as fever, cough or think you may have Covid-19, or have been
self-isolating, or come in to contact with someone that may have Covid-19 please refrain
from playing.

Whilst these measures may seem strict, we feel this is the safest way forward to begin with at
Rhiwbina at the present time. We will continue to regularly monitor the situation and reassess these
measures as we go along. Our prime concern is safety for all at all times and we will obviously keep
you all informed immediately if and when we deem any changes to the above conditions are
appropriate.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email us at rhiwbinatennis@aol.co.uk or contact
myself.

We look forward to seeing you back at Rhiwbina.
Stay safe and well.

Kind regards,
Andrea Ludtke
