All the fours for TE4M

All the fours for TE4M!

With the internet breaking with every post match video interview, TE4M's fame is growing globally (well, at least around the Kew area). Off-the-back of this widespread media interest, TE4M were kindly invited by Priory Park for a friendly match.

Represented by first pair Akhilesh Pokhariyal and Gonzalo Romero Vagni, supported by Andrew Northern and team Captain Phil Norris; the team made the short walk to Priory Park. On arrival they saw some friendly faces who were current or previous RLTC members. Slightly confused about the loyalty of their opponents, the matches began…

Akhilesh and Gonzalo made good, if slow progress, against their first pair winning 6-2, 6-4. While Andrew and Phil made faster progress against their opponents winning 6-1, 6-2.

After losing their serve in both sets, Akhilesh and Gonzalo bounced back and comfortably beat the second pair 6-4, 6-2.

Having waited some time to start their second match, Andrew and Phil lost some of their rhythm and also eventually lost the first set 5-7. With the low sun making play difficult from one end, they resiliently won a tight second 7-5, forcing a championship tiebreak.

With their backs firmly against the wall, down 1-7 in the championship tiebreak, Andrew and Phil rallied and won it 14-12 sealing a 4-0 victory for TE4M.

Team Captain, Phil Norris concludes, "firstly, we would like to thank Priory Park, for the invitation to play and their hospitality, and we wish them all the best as they prepare for the winter season. In these hotly contested matches, we never really got into top gear, there were moments of brilliance and there was plenty of grit and determination that got us the win."
