USE OF TENNIS COURTS

The courts are reserved for Club drop-in sessions on Tuesday and Sunday mornings between 10.00 and 12.00 and for Coaching Sessions as shown on the Schedule, including Friday afternoons during term time.  For much of the rest time it is possible just to turn up and play but please use the booking facility if you wish to be  sure of a court at a particular time.

  • Players must take responsibility for deciding whether the courts are fit to play.  At times, leaves from the trees behind the courts can cause playing problems and are a potential safety hazard when wet. The Committee will try to clear leaves regularly during Autumn but it will sometimes be necessary to use the brooms from the hut.  Do not play if the courts appear icy (and do not attempt to de-ice courts with chemicals as this may seriously damage the surface).

PLEASE NOTE: Until we resurface the courts later this year, it may be necessary to sweep loose grit off the courts before playing, especially at the end nearest the gate, using the brooms in the hut. Play on the far court if possible.

  • Players must wear tennis shoes or similar sports shoes with non-ridged non-marking soles.   This is for personal safety – for good grip - and to protect the courts from damage.
  • End of play.  If there are no other players on court when you leave, it is your responsibility to return club equipment (e.g. balls, brooms, chairs) to the hut and ensure that both courts and hut are locked.
