South East London Tennis

South East London Tennis is a Community Interest Company and was established in May 2011 to offer affordable, quality tennis coaching to people of all ages and ability within the local community. We have over 25 years tennis coaching experience in the area.

We believe in ‘tennis for all’ and have a passion offering everyone an opportunity to play the sport we love. South East London Tennis has ever increasing links with schools and the wider community through our Community Tennis and holiday programmes.

Since April 2013 Community Tennis @ Ladywell Fields has been offering drop in sessions on Saturday and Tuesday mornings for juniors and adults. We offer mini tennis sessions for 6 year olds and up and Cardio tennis for adults who are looking for a fitness workout.

We also run an Indoor Mini Tennis programme at Ladywell Day Centre (148 Dressington Avenue SE4 1JF) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays after school for Mini Tots (4-6 years) and 7-10 year olds.

Together with London Sport we run a Community Tennis Club in the Sports Hall @ Prendergast School. This is open to juniors aged 11 – 16 to drop in. This has been running for 4 years and runs every Thursday in term time 3.30 – 4.30pm

We deliver free tennis to local Primary Schools in partnership with Give it Your Max who are a UK charity. The aim is to increase the profile of tennis in Lewisham and give children an opportunity to play who normally wouldn’t have access to the sport. Local Primary schools who have benefitted so far from this initiative are Gordonbrock, Beecroft Garden, John Stainer, Mary Magdalene’s, Rushey Green, Myatt Garden, Holbeach, St Saviours, Prendergast Vale and Tidemill. 980 Primary school children have received free tennis lessons since we started in 2014.

We also run tennis projects in Secondary Schools. Cardio tennis is very popular as it really helps with fitness and doesn’t just focus on the ability to play tennis. Levels are fitness are tracked using heart rate monitors.
